“Valuing Health: Why prioritising population health is essential to prosperity” is a recent report from the British Medical Association on valuing health.

This is a call for government and policy makers to value population health and wellbeing rather than economic growth as a measure. The health of the UK population is declining, and health inequalities are widening. Health policy often focuses on healthcare but this is not the main determinant of health. The conditions in which people grow, live, work and age are the prime determinants.
