Strategic Health Liaison

VAST’s Strategic Liaison Officer facilitates the strategic engagement of the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector with the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire, as well as their partners across the local health economy, to support and enable the VCSE sector to play an active role in improving health and wellbeing for our local population.

This engagement between the VCSE sector and statutory bodies promotes mutual understanding between the two sectors and enables them to work better together in partnership and collaboration to best serve the local population.

Our Strategic Liaison Officer can keep you informed as the NHS Five Year Forward View is developed and the new health and social care landscape emerges locally. They can also help you stay informed about national policy developments that may impact on commissioning or have a relevance to your service users.

We aim to:

  • support a two-way flow of information between the VCSE sector and commissioners and health care professionals
  • amplify the voice of the VCSE sector and people with lived experience to inform local commissioners and health care professionals
  • support the VCSE sector to understand and respond to the challenges and strategic priorities of the local Clinical Commissioning Groups
  • facilitate co-produced solutions to improve health and wellbeing in Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire
