VAST’s Strategic Liaison Officer facilitates the strategic engagement of the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector with the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire, as well as their partners across the local health economy, to support and enable the VCSE sector to play an active role in improving health and wellbeing for our local population.
This engagement between the VCSE sector and statutory bodies promotes mutual understanding between the two sectors and enables them to work better together in partnership and collaboration to best serve the local population.
Through our Strategic Liaison role we can keep you informed of the changing health and social care landscape as this emerges locally. We can also help you stay informed about national policy developments that may impact on commissioning or have a relevance to your service users.
We aim to:
- support a two-way flow of information between the VCSE sector and commissioners and health care professionals
- amplify the voice of the VCSE sector and people with lived experience to inform local commissioners and health care professionals
- support the VCSE sector to understand and respond to the challenges and strategic priorities of the local Clinical Commissioning Groups and developing Integrated Care System (ICS) and Integrated Care Partnerships (ICP).
- facilitate co-produced solutions to improve health and wellbeing in Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire
