We’re delighted to announce that, together with NCVO, we are co-hosting their Members Assembly for Stoke-on-Trent. This face-to-face interaction is core to NCVO’s work within the voluntary sector all over England.
Taking place on 12th March 2020 at the Dudson Centre, the half-day agenda includes a local workshop from VAST and the Totally Stoked team, and two interactive sessions from NCVO representatives, with group discussions, bite-sized training and a Q&A opportunity.
As co-hosts, we’re excited to have the opportunity to provide the local workshop session and to introduce you to Totally Stoked, the new community giving scheme for Stoke-on-Trent. Place-based giving is a new government initiative which connects VCSE groups to local businesses and residents, connecting skills, volunteers, equipment, facilities, advice and know-how from across the community to the organisations that need them.
The theme for the workshop sessions is ‘Rebalancing the Relationship’ – a joint project from NCVO in collaboration with ACEVO and Lloyds Bank Foundation.
The project aims to build a bridge between smaller and larger organisations in the sector, exploring the challenges smaller not-for-profit groups face in commissioning and bidding for contracts. The main focus of the project is how organisations themselves, both large and small, can take action to flourish and how voluntary organisations compete, collaborate and coexist.
Date: Thursday 12th March 2020
Time: 09:30am – 1:30pm (with additional time for lunch and networking)
Venue: Dudson Centre, Hope Street, Hanley, ST1 5DD
The event is free for staff and trustees of all NCVO member organisations. Non-member organisations in the local area are also welcome, however booking in advance is required.
The event opens for registration and refreshments from 9:30am for a 10:00am start. The 1:30pm free networking lunch includes opportunities for 1:1 advice from NCVO and VAST.
