In partnership with Entrust and the City Learning Trust, the Vintage Volunteers team are piloting an innovative new STEM project. We’re seeking to engage STEM enthusiasts aged 60+ with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds to volunteer their time in schools (supporting 11 to 18 year olds) to improve understanding of STEM subjects and increase access to STEM careers.
What does being a STEM Ambassador involve?
STEM Ambassadors will enhance and enrich the learning of STEM subjects by sharing their own interests, skills and experience in STEM with learners. Ambassadors can get involved in a variety of casual activities, all of which can have an impact on young people’s learning and enjoyment of STEM subjects, including:
- Supporting with lessons by bringing real-world problems for pupils to experience and solve
- Giving careers talks or demonstrations
- Helping schools make connections with local employers and industry resources
Want to get involved?
Do you have an interest in, or background in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths?
Would you be willing to share your skills and experiences with young people from some of the Cities most deprived communities?
Then contact the Vintage Volunteers Project Manager, Steve Terry, using the details below and be a part of this exciting, innovative initiative. Thank you!
