Across the health and care system in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent there are a number of citizen’s and patient’s groups that regularly inform our work. We rely on the passion of these members to help us transform health and care services in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. We want to thank everyone who takes part in these groups for the significant contribution they have made so far – it really is valued and appreciated.
We know group members come from all walks of life with diverse views that feed into our work to improve the health and wellbeing of our population. We are now looking to build on this as we progress to an Integrated Care System (ICS).
The core purpose of an ICS is to improve outcomes in population and health care, tackle inequalities in outcomes, experiences, and access, enhance productivity and value for money and to help the NHS to support broader social and economic development. We can only achieve these aims if we listen to our communities, understand the challenges they face and actively involve them in the planning, development, and delivery of services at a system and local level.
We need to find a way that enables us to involve a diverse and representative proportion of the population as an ICS and in the work of our Integrated Care Partnerships in the North, South East and South West. However, we want to build on the partnership working and relationships that already exists.
A short survey (https://nhs.researchfeedback.net/s.asp?k=162134298408) has been developed to help us to understand what groups we have in place, who they represent and how they could help to shape a future model of engagement for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. The survey will close on the 8th June 2021.
We would also like to invite you to attend a Teams meeting on Tuesday 8th June, 3pm – 4.30pm so we can hear your views about how best we can engage with the wider population and keep the voice of patients and the public at the heart of what we do as a system.
A registration link for this virtual event will be circulated shortly, but we wanted to let you know the date as soon as possible.
