NHS launch a two-day Patient and Public Voice partners training course

Places are available on a two-day interactive Patient and Public Voice (PPV) partners training course aimed at PPV partners involved in NHS England and NHS Improvement or supporting health and care transformation programmes (STPs, ICSs, etc.) on a regular basis. There are two cohorts taking place on 18th and 19thSeptember 2019 in London (deadline for applications is 23rd August) and 13th and 14th November in Leeds (deadline for applications is 04th October).Through the course PPV partners will explore how they can effectively work in partnership with a range of stakeholders to influence change and develop their skills and confidence – making the most of their role. Free accredited training available to NHS volunteers – Understanding the Health and Social Care Environment

Places are available on the Understanding the Health and Social Care Environment(UHSCE) online training course which is accredited by Certa and is available to current NHS volunteers. The course is divided into three sections: about the stakeholders, about tools and methods for influencing health and social care, and about how you can present your community issues to have maximum impact for positive change. There are two rounds of the course that you can apply for starting on 17th September 2019(deadline for applications is 02nd September) and on 19th November 2019 (deadline for applications is 04th November). The course ends with a full day of assessed presentations where participants have an opportunity to share their projects they have been working on as part of the course, gather practical advice on how to develop their work further, and to network. Community grants to highlight patient and public involvement in the voluntary sector are now open for applications. 

NHS England and NHS Improvement’s ‘celebrating involvement in healthcare’ community grants scheme is now open for applications. Grants of up to £2500 are available to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations to showcase how they have been involving patients, service users and the public in improving health services. Full details of eligibility and how to apply can be found on the NHS England and NHS Improvement website. The deadline for applications is midnight on Monday 23rd September 2019.
