The second round of applications for the Discretionary Business Grant Fund is now open – with a share of £1.5 million available.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is encouraging small businesses in the city, that have been affected by Covid-19 to apply for the grant if they previously missed out on the Small Business Grant scheme as their rateable value exceeds £15,000 and they did not meet the eligibility for the Extended Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Grant.

Under the scheme, grants are available to support business which meets all of the following criteria:
- small and micro-businesses;
- relatively high ongoing fixed property-related costs;
- can demonstrate the business has suffered a significant fall in income due to the COVID-19 crisis;
- the business occupies property, or part of a property, with a rateable value, annual rent or mortgage payments below £51,000
The deadline for applications is Thursday 9 July at 4pm.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council gave 238 businesses grants of £5,000 and issued a total of £1.3 million in the first round of applications.
