Learning disability respite services reopening in Stoke-on-Trent

Stoke-on-Trent City Council said:

“We recognise the additional pressures that local carers have been under during the past few months, we are pleased to have now reopened our learning disability respite services this week (from 29th June). This will ensure the needs of our vulnerable citizens continue to be met and ensure our valuable carers have the support they need.

The Meadows will offer respite to 91 people with learning disabilities over the coming months. The building has been risk-assessed to check that the service can safely accommodate people and follow national guidance including social distancing while ensuring the needs of individual service users can be met.

Personal protective equipment is provided for all staff and all individuals will be monitored for signs and symptoms of coronavirus before accessing the service.”
