As a key partner, VAST is thrilled to announce that Discover Digital’s Get Connected grants are again open for applications to help boost digital inclusion across Stoke-on-Trent.

The cost-of-living crisis is putting huge pressure on everyone, but particularly the most vulnerable members of our communities. This is sure to widen the digital gap and make accessing the online world even more difficult. Get Connected grants are here to address this very issue.

The grants are available to individuals who aren’t able to easily access the technology they need to get connected, get online, use internet-based services, and keep in touch with family and friends.

With the equipment provided through these  grants, digitally excluded individuals living in Stoke-on-Trent will have the devices they need to brush up on their digital skills.

Discover Digital is a cross-sector partnership funded by the UK Community Renewal Fund. It is fully committed to raising the bar of digital accessibility across the city, helping others to discover the things they need to go digital and get online; to make sure that everyone can find and use the digital services they need.

Applications for Get Connected grants must be accompanied by a valid referral from a VCSE organisation working with the individual. To discuss applying for a grant, or for more information on referrals and supporting information, please email [email protected] or call the Community Foundation for Staffordshire on 01785 339540.

Applications will be assessed at panels taking place throughout November and December, so referring partners are encouraged to ensure applications are submitted as soon as possible. The scheme will close to new applications on Monday 5th December.
