Involving Communities in Shaping VCSE Projects

As VCSE organisations, our projects are always focussed on our communities and service users – identifying gaps and areas of potential support.

Consulting with communities to ensure that we’re providing the support they need is essential; involving communities in the decision-making process ensures that diverse perspectives are represented, and builds a stronger connection between VCSE organisations and the communities they serve.

It’s important to ensure that all community engagement is sensitive, appropriate and useful.

In this Community Share Network session, we will discuss how you can positively engage with your communities and service users to help shape your projects. Community Share Networks are a series of resource and information sharing networks, connecting the VCSE sector in Stoke-on-Trent to encourage collaboration.

We will hear from Expert Citizens, a Community Interest Company led by people with lived experience of homelessness, mental ill-health, addiction, domestic abuse, poverty or histories of offending behaviour. We would also love to hear your stories about how your communities have shaped your organisation and the work you do!
