Governance: The Basics for Charities and CIOs | Training Webinar

‘Governance’ is a term used to describe the strategic management and operations of charities and not for profits.

Effective governance is the cornerstone of success for any not-for-profit. It serves as the bedrock for ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations that govern the structural framework of voluntary organisations. More than that though, it cultivates a culture where every aspect aligns harmoniously to realise your charity’s overarching vision and mission.

Our session will encompass four crucial areas:

• Understanding the essence of a governing document.
• Exploring the seven fundamental principles of good governance.
• Introduction to the Governance App.
• The essentials of being an effective trustee.

Throughout this session, we’ll navigate the complexities of governance together, so that you can best serve your charity with confidence and the knowledge that you and your board members will be complying with key requirements of the law and acting in the best interest of your organisation.

This session will help you and your board of trustees to develop and maintain consistent high standards of governance, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to govern your organisation efficiently, effectively, and legally.

This training is for charity staff and trustees. If your organisation is a CIC our Governance and Best Practice for CICs training will be a more suitable option for you.

This session will be delivered online via Zoom. The Zoom link will be shared via email two days prior to the session.
