Do you enjoy meeting people?  Would you like to be part of a network supporting people in your local community?  All you need is your own car and a small amount of time to spare.

Door2Door provides transport to local people who are unable to access public transport to get around.  The role is flexible so you can provide as much or as little time as you can spare but you will be making a huge difference to local people who could otherwise become lonely and isolated.

Your mileage and expenses are reimbursed and you can enjoy meeting with other volunteer drivers at one of our regular driver meetings.

Hours are available to suit, you can do as little of as many hours as you wish to give.

Key Tasks and responsibilities: 

Collecting service users from their home and driving them to medical appointments, to visit friends or access clubs and local services.

  • Comprehensive insurance
  • Professional and friendly manner
  • Ability to engage with a diverse range of people
  • Non judgmental and empathetic attitude
  • Good listening and communication skills

Full training will be given in the procedures and systems used as part of your induction with ongoing training and upskilling available. Regular meetings with Transport Coordinator and peer mentor available.

You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
