The Community Renewal Fund is £220 million of government funding to support people and communities most in need across the UK. Projects are sought in four priority areas:
- Investment in skills
- Investment in local business
- Investment in communities and place
- Supporting people into employment
Business Enterprise Support (BES) is acting on behalf of Team Staffordshire (a range of voluntary organisations in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent) to submit a bid to the Staffordshire funding stream of the Community Renewal Fund and would like to ask other organisations in need of funding to submit project ideas that might be included within the bid. There is a separate funding stream for Stoke-on-Trent. Organisations can submit to either and/or both.
The Big Idea – the Community Task Force
Simply put, we want to work with like-minded organisations to help unemployed people get back to work by creating a community task force that will provide six months employment for people in Staffordshire delivering locally-based projects that improve neighbourhoods and lives.
As the timescales for delivering the projects are short, we are looking for ‘ready to go’ projects/ organisations in two broad categories:
- Community task force employers
- Project providers
Expressions of interest must be submitted by 5pm on 11th May 2021.
