The VAST Volunteering team hosted its first in-person Volunteer Fayre since the start of the pandemic! The Fayre was hosted at The Dudson Centre in Mid-September and was attended by over 20 fantastic organisations from across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire, all promoting a range of volunteer opportunities featuring everything, from working with children to presenting radio shows!

The Volunteer Fayre was free for people to attend on a drop-in basis, and we had visitors from local sixth forms and the YMCA who were interested in volunteering along with general members of the public. It was an excellent opportunity for people to meet local organisations and find out directly about how they could get involved.

We had some great feedback from the Volunteer Fayre including a lovely quote from Maurice from the LGBT Older Peoples Group, who said: “The Volunteer Fayre was fantastic, absolutely buzzing with activity. I got to network with so many different people and organisations that I hadn’t before.”

We are already planning our next Volunteer Fayre for January, so you can all kick off your 2023 with a bang! The next Volunteer Fayre will be taking place in a more accessible location and on a larger scale. If you’d like to be kept in the loop of this, please email [email protected].

If you weren’t able to attend this Volunteer Fayre but would love to find out more about volunteering, please get in touch with us as we’d love to help you find your perfect volunteering opportunity.
