SUMMARY:Hyper-Local Support Network
DESCRIPTION:Is your organisation a Welcoming Space or community hub? Do you support your community at a hyper-local level?\nThe support you provide to your communities is vital, and we want to help support the continuation of that work, by listening to you and connecting you with other individuals and organizations that provide that hyper-local support in their parts of the city.\nThis session of the Hyper Local Network will be focused on inclusion in partnership with Katie Johnson of Support Staffordshire.\nWelcoming Spaces from across the city are invited to come together to develop resources that will improve inclusion for those with learning disabilities and autism. Participants with all knowledge and experience levels are welcome; whether you are confident in your inclusive practices and want to share your experience, or you’re just getting started on your inclusion journey and would like to learn from other organisations across the city.\nIf you’re welcoming space doesn’t have any participants with learning disabilities or autism then you may benefit from the transferable skills that comes with talking about this subject, for example helping those with young children or dementia.\n\nThis session is for:\n\nThose that run/volunteer at a welcoming space, place of welcome, community living room, warm hub, community hub any space where the community is welcome in a relaxed environment.\nSpaces that lack experience and want to learn more about inclusion for those with learning disabilities, neurodivergence and autism.\nSpaces that practice inclusion and would like to share their knowledge and experience with other organisations across the city.\nThose that would benefit from transferable skills and resources that could help  welcoming and supporting early years participants and those with dementia.\n\nAs well as opening doors for those in your community who may struggle to get out and participate in your Welcoming Space, this could open you up to a new pool of volunteers in your community.\nThis session will take place at Blurton Community Hub from 1:00pm-3:00pm on 14th May.\nIf you have any questions ahead of the session, please email support@vast.org.uk ( mailto:support@vast.org.uk )\n
