2025: A Year of Celebration!

Community Events

We are thrilled to see that the Centenary year is well and truly underway!  As the city’s celebrations begin, we invite everyone to come together to make this a truly remarkable year. We are calling on all community groups, organisations and individuals to get in touch with us about the events you’re planning and contributing to this historic year – and we would love to include your events in the official Centenary calendar.

Whether it’s cultural performances, sporting events, exhibitions or workshops, we’re eager to hear about what’s going on in the community.

Submit your ideas here.

If you have an idea but are not quite sure how to go about it, you can register to receive a toolkit with information and advice around hosting an event, you can join VAST’s Communications and Events Engagement Network on Thursday 3rd April at the Dudson Centre, where local voluntary and community organisations can hear all about the Centenary plans and how you can host your own event for this special year.

Love Where You Live

Plans are also starting to take shape for The Centenary Big Clean in the Community – but we can’t do it without you! We would love to hear about any clean-up activities that you may have planned. Some examples of what you can do include:

  • Community litter picks,
  • Community planting projects,
  • Sign cleaning,
  • Communal areas tidy–up, and more…

Celebrating Volunteers

This year is all about celebrating our community and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Together, we can showcase the vibrancy and heart of our city. We especially want to highlight the incredible volunteers in the city which is ongoing through our weekly #SOTCelebrates campaign.

We will be interviewing a different volunteer or community group each week and would love to hear from you if you would like to be next!

You can see some of the groups already featured here.

For volunteer group suggestions or any questions related to the Centenary, please don’t hesitate to reach out through this contact form or email sot100@stoke.gov.uk

Let’s make this Centenary year unforgettable – for us, for our neighbours and for generations to come!
